As we are in Lockdown Part 2 and the winter months are upon us, apart from tinkering with your fantasy football team, knitting a scarf for your dog or heavy drinking, there is little left we can do apart from cooking. So look out for “James May: Oh Cook” due to start this Friday 13th November on Amazon Prime. The series see’s James May in the unfamiliar world of the kitchen, where he’ll be cooking up some delicious recipes with help from home economist Nikki Morgan. The show claims its meals to be simple enough for anyone to make and incorporating easily accessible ingredients.
Across its seven episodes, May will be attempting dishes ranging from the Far East to the Med, as well as some classic pub grub. Roy Williamsedited the Puddings, Curry and Pasta episodes. He started the edit just as England was going into lockdown back in March, he said “we were all just figuring out the challenges and workflows involved in remote editing. But all went well. It was a great team that I have worked together over lots of productions before”. We look forward to it Roy!

Need some escapism? Grab your glass of vino and settle in for an evening with a new series of The Wine Show!
Matthew Goode, Matthew Rhys and James Purefoy are joined by Dominic West this season to capture the exciting and extraordinary world of wine in sunny Portugal.
Three Sastusfaction editors worked on the series and it sounds like it was a fun project. Jonnie Case said “it was a joy to edit as it is so well scripted, produced and shot. It was great fun working with a cast of well known UK actors who are happy to allow themselves to be gently educated in the ways of wine”.
Gwyn Moxham found it great working with the team “both the wider team and also our little editor huddle with Dave and Jonnie, honestly the nicest bunch of people to be entering the weird world of lockdown editing with” He also added “It was great also to work with footage from the most stunning parts of Portugal, and with such talented actors! A great gig and learned lots about wine, food and Portugal”.
Dave Berezaisaid “I can honestly say I knew next to nothing about wine before I started on this show. I have since learnt many of the nuances that help create a great bottle of wine. But I have barely scratched the surface. There is so much to know! This was my third season and it was great to work with such a lovely team again. The material was beautifully shot in some truly amazing places around the world. Us editors were given a great deal of autonomy to put our own stamps on things – a challenge which we all relished. And to top it off some top notch wine made it’s way into the edit from time to time. Cheers!”
The Faction ladies are now dreaming of sitting in the sun in Portugal sipping some lovely wine!

Big congratulations to Charlie Webb, it was his first series editor role!
Charlie chatted to us about his experience on the series and said I really enjoyed working on the show and always enjoy working with the double act team and Alex Wood the Series Producer who was brilliant. It was a big challenge being my first show as series editor but really pleased with the format and style we came up with. Each episode has a theme throughout which is all tied together at the end of the show, making it feel very filmic. The show has some great moments, both highs and lows, has beautiful photography and has been scored superbly by Matt De Luca at Figure and Groove. I’m really looking forward for people to see it on Nat Geo Wild and Disney +.
The first ep will be aired on 31st Oct on Nat Geo Wild.
UK rap legends DJ Target, Krept and Konan are putting seven unsigned MCs head to head in a battle to become the first ever signing for Krept and Konan’s record label.
Joe thought the artists this year are all very talented and enjoyed the energetic style of the show which made it a lot of fun to cut. Each episode is shot over 5 days, meaning there has been 50 hours plus of rushes per show. The main challenge Joe had was getting such an immense amount of material down into a 1 hour show!
We are looking forward to catching this series which starts tomorrow 7pm on 22 October only on BBC 3 / BBC iPlayer.
Matt Frei investigates the president’s policies, actions and decisions during the pandemic, which has cost more than 200,000 American lives. There are revelations gathered from months of conversations with White House advisers and insiders, whistle-blowers, politicians who have worked with Trump and leading US scientists, as well as loyal Trump supporters.
Hass edited the pre-titles and part four of this fascinating documentary. When Hass started the edit, President Trump has just been diagnosed with COVID-19 so there was lots of last minute changes and new footage to be added! He worked remotely from home but with a camera set up on his edit suite, the exec was able to work closely with him throughout the edit. Hass said it was a hard edit with a very fast turnaround but a really interesting project and he enjoyed working with such a lovely team.
Dispatches: Trumps Coronavirus will be on tonight 8pm Channel 4

Myles Painter who cut episode 3 of the series, looking back at the Full Circle series said that: ‘it was a joy to revisit one of my favourite programs as a child – my parents still have all the series on VHS – and spend time going through lots of rushes of the legend that is Michael Palin and listen to all his amazing stories.’
