Inside the London Fire Brigade: ITV

This three part documentary series followed the brigade over the last year as they responded to a staggering range of emergencies.  It provides a unique insight into their work, with firefighters filming themselves on the dangerous front line using special fire cameras.  It is access on an unprecedented scale to incidents across the whole of London.

The first episode is edited by the brilliant  Ben Burgess. Firefighters talk for the very first time about the Grenfell fire and their experiences of that tragic night. In never heard before accounts of what happened inside the tower, firefighters describe how they feared it might collapse and the horror of what they saw.

Vlogglebox E4- Studio Lambert

Vlogglebox is a weekly, fast-turnaround series that reveals what the 16-24 year olds are watching on their phones, laptops and tablets. The returning cast of young reviewers react to the very latest viral videos and short-form content that everyone is talking about in the week of transmission.

Vlogglebox is innovative in the way it is filmed: most of the show will be shot on iPhones attached to the cast’s phones and tablets. The reviewers on Vlogglebox are seen watching on a different devices and locations, including on buses, fast-food restaurants, etc.

We all know there’s a generation growing up who are captivated by entertaining content that’s never seen on conventional television,” says Tania Alexander, executive producer of both Gogglebox and Vlogglebox, “and so we were very excited about adapting the Gogglebox format to bring that content to E4 in a fresh and amusing way.

North One TV: The Story of Paul O Grady: Channel 5

This North One Television series for Channel 5 celebrates the stories of the nation’s best loved entertainers. Series 1 Episode 2 charts the career of Paul O Grady.

The unique career found fame as two people – first his drag queen alter ego, Lily Savage, and then as himself. After teenage traumas in Birkenhead, Paul immersed himself in the London gay scene, becoming a rising star in TV. He then reinvented himself in the new millennium, hosting award-winning chat shows and travelogues.

The wonderful David Greathead edited the programme and it will be aired on Channel 5 at 9pm on Friday 23rd June.

Munduruku: The Fight to Defend the Heart of the Amazon launches in South America

Congratulations to Rich Lester who edited Munduruku: The Fight to Defend the Heart of the Amazon which won the alternate realities audience award at the Sheffield Documentary Festival 2017 after its International premiere was held at the festival. This multi-sensory experience, created in collaboration with Greenpeace and The Feelies, was selected by festival goers as their favourite experience within this year’s Alternative Realties exhibition.

Elton John – Bennie And The Jets (Official Music Video)

 

Jack Whiteley and Laura Brownhill’s winning video for Elton John’s music video competition The Cut imagines his mid-70s classic Bennie and The Jets as a gorgeous black and white dance film inspired by classic Hollywood.

Ruffian Post worked with Flame Artist Lem Lawrence who completed the beauty work on Jet throughout the video.

 

Inside The Gang

This documentary series aims to show the reality of gang life in the UK today where selling drugs, robbery and extreme violence are a normal part of everyday life.

Mohsin Bhatti edited Episode 2: Street Wars which focuses on how the drug economy fuels competitive city gangs to branch out into smaller rural towns for new custom. It will be aired on Monday 15th May on Channel 5 and repeated on Tuesday 16th May, 9pm on 5 Star.

Abraham Teweldebrhan edited episode 4 and also worked across the other episodes in this series in which ten of the country’s most talented tattoo artists compete against the clock and each other to impress judges Jay Hutton and Rose Hardy.

When Peter checks on his 82-year-old father at home one morning as normal, he finds the house empty. Suffering from advancing dementia, Archie has vanished – leaving no sign of where he might be. As an ex-paratrooper, Archie has been physically fit all his life and has been struggling to accept his increasing fragility. Dementia sufferers are known to travel vast distances when they disappear, and a full-scale land and air search is launched to find Archie.

But as hours tick by without so much as a single confirmed sighting, and a neighbour comes forward with CCTV of potentially suspicious activity at Archie’s home address, the police begin to suspect foul play.

I Shot My Parents

In the United States, five parents a week on average are killed by their children. “I Shot My Parents” follows the dramatic case of 14 year old Nathon Brooks from Washington State, who in 2013 shot his parents while they slept. Miraculously they both survived.

With unique access to Nathon, his family and the police who attended the crime scene, this film unpicks what happened on the night of the shootings and asks what led a boy from a seemingly normal middle-class family to attempt to commit such an unimaginable crime.

Edited by Graham Taylor who used his experience and skills to craft a delicate and devastating film with first time director Martin Webb.
